Monday January 30, 2012
I.) Core Activities
-Pre-K: this is a make up day for us, as we missed a day due to the birthday party. We will take this day to return to our selected learned vocabulary: apples, grapes and Bananas.
-Kindergarten: introduction to the letter of the week C via the word “Cow” which is the centre of this week’s food study: dairy products. We will start this week by colouring a sheet featuring the dairy products milk, ice cream and cheese.

I.) Core Activities:
-Pre-K: today we created a “mini fruit basket” modeling our project after the larger fruit and vegetable basket created by the Kindergarten last week. This smaller fruit basket contains our ‘focus fruits’ Apples, Bananas and Grapes. This project allowed our younger students to apply their learning in a creative and concrete way.
-Kindergarten: the class will complete their second dairy foods worksheet which features Butter and Yogurt, this will be the last worksheet for this week before we embark upon our “What comes from a Cow” project.
Wednesday February 1, 2012
I.) Core Activities:
-Pre- K: today this cohort will enjoy painting a giant dairy cow, as this group is also learning that cows say “Moo” and start with the letter “C” this is a great activity.
-Kindergarten: [adjusted due to technological difficulties] today’s class will review fruit, vegetable and dairy products via a dairy product flash card game and a game of fruit dominos.
